Funerals and Mourning Rituals

Honoring One's Memory      Comforting All Who Mourn

When facing the loss of a loved one, our tradition offers a spiritual set of time-tested and psychologically wise rituals, practices and pointers.  From before passing, through shiva and shloshim, to yartzheit and unveiling, we delicately balance k'vod ha'met (the honor of the deceased) with k'vod ha'chayim (the honor of those who go on living) in ways that do justice to both.

I can guide you through the logistics and healing rituals of the Jewish mourning practices, and help you draw upon them to fit your personal and family needs.

A lifetime cannot be captured in a day, much less an hour's ceremony.  But we can elicit powerful memories, share meaningful moments, tell heartwarming stories, lift up central themes and attributes, and begin to see a legacy take shape.  Using song and spoken word, Hebrew and English, Psalm and poetry and prose, together we will craft a public farewell that's worthy of your loved one.
