On April 3, 2025, I had the honor to speak at a multi-faith vigil around immigrant and refugee rights -- alongside others including Rev. Dr. Leslie Copeland-Tune, Rabbi Liz P. G. Hirsch, and Rev. Carlos Malave -- as to what in our traditions led our institutions to join as plaintiffs on a lawsuit against DHS, seeking to maintain the historic designation of houses of worship as 'sensitive locations' where ICE will not tread in its efforts to detain and deport undocumented human beings.
